Connecting Slack to LeaseHub: lead, application, and showing alerts where your team already looks
By Alex Burton

A lead comes in from Zillow at 4:50 on a Friday. The agent who should call them back is in a showing, the coordinator has the dashboard open in a tab she has not looked at since lunch, and the applicant who submitted an hour ago is already refreshing their inbox. Nobody did anything wrong. The information just sat in a place nobody was looking.
Most leasing teams already have a place everyone is looking: Slack. LeaseHub’s Slack integration sends new leads, new applications, and showing updates into a channel of your choosing, the moment they happen. Here is what it sends, who can set it up, and how to connect it in about two minutes.
What lands in your Slack channel
Once connected, the channel you pick receives a message for each of these events:
- New lead. Someone reaches out about a listing, whether through your website, Zillow, or another connected source.
- New application received. An applicant submits a new rental application.
- Application ready for review. An application has everything it needs and is waiting on you.
- Showing completed. A scheduled showing has taken place.
- Showing feedback received. An agent submits feedback after a showing.
Each message puts the key details up front, and most include a View button that opens the relevant lead, application, or showing directly in LeaseHub. The point is not to replace the dashboard. It is to make sure the moment something needs a human, the human finds out where they already are.
Before you start
Two things to check:
- You need to be an Admin on your LeaseHub account. Slack is a workspace-level setting, not a per-user one. One admin connects it, and the whole team gets the notifications.
- You need permission to add apps to your Slack workspace. In most workspaces anyone can do this. Some restrict app installs to Slack admins, so if the authorization step is blocked, ask whoever manages your Slack.
Step 1: Open Integrations in Settings
From the main dashboard, go to Settings > Configurations and open the Integrations section.
Step 2: Connect Slack
Click Connect Slack. LeaseHub redirects you to Slack’s authorization screen. Review the permissions requested and click Allow. Slack sends you back to LeaseHub automatically.
Step 3: Choose your channel
Back in LeaseHub, a Channel dropdown now lists the Slack channels available to you. Pick the one where you want these notifications to appear. Something like #leasing-updates or #team-alerts works well, but any channel your team actually watches is the right answer.
That is the whole setup. Notifications start arriving in that channel as these events happen.
Don’t see the channel you want?
If it is a private channel, the LeaseHub bot has to be invited before it can post there. In Slack, open the channel, click the channel name, go to Integrations > Add an App, and add LeaseHub. Then return to LeaseHub Settings and click Refresh Channels. Public channels do not need this step.
Changing or disconnecting later
To switch channels, come back to Settings > Configurations > Integrations any time and pick a different channel from the dropdown. Notifications move to the new channel and the old one stops receiving them.
To stop notifications entirely, click Disconnect in the same Integrations section. You can reconnect whenever you like.
Troubleshooting
- “Slack is not configured on this server.” Slack has not been set up for your environment yet. Contact support and we will sort it out.
- The Connect button looks disabled after you tried to connect. Refresh the page. This can happen if you navigated away from Slack’s authorization step without completing it.
- No messages are showing up in your channel. Double-check that the right channel is selected in the dropdown, and that the LeaseHub bot has been invited if the channel is private.
Where this fits
The Slack integration is a notification layer on top of the parts of LeaseHub your team already runs: CRM & Leads for the inquiries coming in, Showings Automation for the tours and feedback, and Applications Management for everything from submission to review. The work still happens in LeaseHub. Slack just makes sure nobody finds out about it on Monday.
